Star Micronics Troubleshooting Print

  • 0

In the event that the printer connected to the system has a generic name such as “Star Star Micronics”, then you will need to change the printer name in order for our system to recognize it as a supported printer.

Please check the following steps:

  1. Reset the printer Bluetooth connection as follows:

Make sure that you do not forget to unpair the printer from the Android device.

Once the reset is done, the printer should take a generic name such as Star Micronics.

2. Next you can install the following utility app from Star:

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.StarMicronics.StarSettings&hl=en

This app was tested and it is working for changing the name of the printer.

3. After the utility app is installed, pair the printer with the device where the order taking app is installed. Then access the star Bluetooth utility and change the device name to TSP143IIIBI

Like this:

4. Once you change the name, unpair the printer from the mobile device, and turn OFF and ON the printer.

5. Then try to pair the printer with the Android device again. The name TSP143IIIBI should appear instead. Once the pairing is successful, you can try and connect the order taking app to the printer.
