on 20th October some customers experienced a sporadic outage and did not receive orders.
Within our system. the Order Taking App connects to our servers in order to fetch new orders.
The backend communicates with the Database via a QueuePool module, which manages database connections for better performance.
This module has a maximum number of idle connections held open. If the number of active requests is over this limit, the requests are added to a queue.
Due to an unusual traffic pattern, yesterday, the number of connections exceeded the limit, and as a result the communication between the order taking app and our servers was affected.
The engineering team fixed the issue by increasing the limit supported by the QueuePool module while maintaining the system performance at the same time.
Sorry for any inconvenience this issue may have caused. The issue should be fixed now.
Please log-out and re-login into the app, maybe also restart both devices (router + order taking app device) before reconnecting.
